• Inspect the dynamic radar cruise control system.

• Inspect the Advanced Park system.

CHECK VEHICLE CONDITIONS (BRAKE SYSTEM)

Check the brake master cylinder pressure when the brake pedal is released.

  (OFF: Brake pedal fully released)

• Check for vehicle stability control system DTCs.
• Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)

• No vehicle stability control system DTCs are output.
• Vehicle speed is less than 3 km/h (2 mph).
• Communication between the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) and engine stop and start ECU is normal.
• Brake control (VSC, ABS, TR(A)C, automatic brake) is not operating.
• No stop and start system DTCs are output.

After brake control (VSC, ABS, TR(A)C, automatic brake) stops operating, operation of the stop and start system becomes possible.

Brake control (VSC, ABS, TR(A)C, automatic brake) is not operating.

Perform a wheel speed sensor inspection.

CHECK VEHICLE CONDITIONS (TRANSMISSION SWITCH)

• Move the shift lever from N to other than N and then back to N.
• Neutral position switch circuit

HINT:

Before the vehicle is stopped after being driven, if there is shift lever history, operation of the stop and start system becomes possible.

• Data List / Neutral Switch

  (ON: Shift lever in N or P → OFF: Shift lever in other than N or P)

• Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more, and then turn the ignition switch to ON.
• Check whether idling stops when the idling stop conditions are met. If the stop and start system does not operate, perform the following actions.
  • Confirm that the value of the Data List item changes accordingly when the shift lever is moved from N to other than N.
  • Confirm that the value of the Data List item changes accordingly when the clutch pedal is depressed and released.
• Neutral position switch circuit

When all of the following conditions are met, operation of the stop and start system is prohibited:

• Data List / Stop&Start of Engine State

  (The value changes from "IG" (engine stop) to "Run" (engine running))

• Starter not operating
  • Data List / Starter

    (OFF: Not cranking)

• Vehicle Speed (ABS ECU) is 2 km/h (1 mph) or more.
• Value of Data List item "Neutral Switch" is OFF (shift lever not in N)

• Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more, and then turn the ignition switch to ON.
• Check whether idling stops when the idling stop conditions are met. If the stop and start system does not operate, perform the following actions.
  • Confirm that the value of the Data List item changes accordingly when the shift lever is moved from N to other than N.
  • Confirm that the value of the Data List item changes accordingly when the clutch pedal is depressed and released.
• Neutral position switch circuit

When all of the following conditions are met (the vehicle is manually started when the engine is stopped by the stop and start system), operation of the stop and start system is prohibited:

• Data List / Stop&Start of Engine State

  (Stop: Engine stopped by stop and start control)

• Starter not operating
  • Data List / Starter

    (OFF: Not cranking)

• Vehicle Speed (ABS ECU) value exceeds the threshold.
• Value of Data List item "Neutral Switch" is OFF (shift lever not in N)
• Data list "Engine Spd (ECM)" and "Engine Spd (NE Signal)" value exceeds the threshold.
