Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Stuck Low

  • When the vehicle is driven from 0 km/h to 12 km/h (0 mph to 7 mph), the wheel speed is 1.8 km/h (1.1 mph) or less for 0.6 seconds or more.
  • When the wheel speed has not exceeded 1.8 km/h (1.1 mph), the vehicle speed reaches 18 km/h (11 mph).
  • When the vehicle speed and wheel speed are both 43.2 km/h (26.8 mph) or more, the pulse signal is not detected for 0.08 seconds or more.

Brake/EPB

  • SAE Code: C0513 (Case 4 to 6)
  • Output ECU: Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

C0513 (Case 4):
  • After starting off from a stop, if the value of the rear right speed sensor when the vehicle has reached a certain speed is a certain value or less, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.
C0513 (Case 5):
  • If the value of the rear right speed sensor when the vehicle has reached a certain speed is a certain value or less, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.
C0513 (Case 6):
  • When the vehicle is being driven at a certain speed or more and the acceleration rate of the respective wheel is less than a certain value, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

NOTICE:

When performing the normal judgment procedure, make sure that the driver door is closed and is not opened at any time during the procedure.

HINT:

  • After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.
  • When clearing the permanent DTCs, refer to the "CLEAR PERMANENT DTC" procedure.
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
  3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
  4. Turn the ignition switch off.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY) and turn the GTS on.
  6. Wait for 1 second or more. [*]

    HINT:

    [*]: Normal judgment procedure.

The normal judgment procedure is used to complete DTC judgment and also used when clearing permanent DTCs.

  7. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Utility / All Readiness.

    *: Electric Parking Brake System

  8. Check the DTC judgment result.

    HINT:

    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE, perform driving pattern again.
