Toyota Corolla Cross: Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor Module "A" Signal Stuck In Range (C05202A)

DESCRIPTION

The airbag ECU assembly has a built-in yaw rate and acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle condition.

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) memorizes the range of the acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) and the range of vehicle speed calculated using each speed sensor.

This DTC is stored when the acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) value is abnormal when the vehicle is accelerating or decelerating.

DTC No.

Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor Module "A" Signal Stuck In Range

From the time the vehicle starts off until it stops, the longitudinal acceleration sensor value fluctuates 0.5 m/s2 or less during acceleration/deceleration between 1.47 m/s2 and 12 m/s2, or the value always remains 36% or less of vehicle acceleration for 1 to 2 seconds.*

Brake/EPB

  • SAE Code: C051C (Case 3)
  • Output ECU: Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)
  • *: Varies depending on the vehicle driving conditions.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

When CAN communication of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) is valid, the vehicle is being driven within a certain range of acceleration and deceleration, and the longitudinal acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) signal is a certain value or less for a certain amount of time, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

NOTICE:

When performing the normal judgment procedure, make sure that the driver door is closed and is not opened at any time during the procedure.

HINT:

  • After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.
  • When clearing the permanent DTCs, refer to the "CLEAR PERMANENT DTC" procedure.
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
  3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
  4. Turn the ignition switch off.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY) and turn the GTS on.
  6. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 1 km/h (1 mph) or more for 1 second or more. [*]

    HINT:

    [*]: Normal judgment procedure.

The normal judgment procedure is used to complete DTC judgment and also used when clearing permanent DTCs.

  7. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Utility / All Readiness.

    *: Electric Parking Brake System

  8. Check the DTC judgment result.

    HINT:

    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE, perform driving pattern again.
