PRECAUTION
PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING GTS
(a) When using the GTS with the ignition switch off, connect the GTS to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and the vehicle begins. Then select Model Code "KEY REGIST" under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key. While using the GTS, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the GTS and the vehicle.
(b) After all DTCs are cleared, check if the malfunction occurs again 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.
DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER EXPRESSIONS
(a) The type of door control receiver used on this model differs depending on the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.
Part Name in Manual | Actual Part Name |
---|---|
Door control receiver | Door control and tire pressure monitoring system receiver assembly |
PRECAUTION WHEN REPLACING PARTS
(a) If replacing any of the following parts, refer to the Smart Key System (for Start Function).
(1) Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)
(2) Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)
(3) Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly
(b) Door control receiver
If the door control receiver is replaced, it is necessary to register the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly to the new door control receiver and perform registration and initialization.

PRECAUTIONS FOR ELECTRICAL KEY TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
NOTICE FOR CHECKING WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
(a) The size of the wireless door lock control operation area differs depending on the situation.
(1) The size of the operation area differs depending on the user and the way the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held.
(2) In certain areas, the wireless door lock control function will only operate partially for the operation area, which will be reduced due to the vehicle body shape and the influence of the surrounding environment.
(3) Since the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly uses weak radio waves, strong radio waves or electrical noise in the frequency used by the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly may reduce the size of the operation area and the wireless door lock control may not function.
(4) When the transmitter battery is weak, the size of the operation area is reduced and the wireless door lock control may not function.
HINT:
(b) Multi channel function
The wireless door lock control system has a multi channel function. Each time the switch on the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is pressed, the channel is switched alternately between 2 different frequencies and the signal is sent to the door control receiver.
